Cam’s Demolition & Disposal was started in Stoneham in 1977. At our start, we only had 1 pick-up truck to help us remove any junk or debris. Cam’s soon expanded and began gutting out kitchens and bathrooms and acquired more trucks.
One of my more memorable jobs was Stoneham Theater which was built in 1917. Throughout my life I have went to many movies there. In 1999, Symes Group bought the theater and had plans to make interior changes. Cam’s Demolition & Disposal was hired to demolish the entire inside. We spent many laborious hours there, hauling away over 30 roll off containers filled with construction debris. The Symes Group did a great job refurbishing the theater and we were happy we could help with the demolition and disposal.
Cam’s first location was on Pomeworth Street. In 1994, we got into the dumpster-roll off business. We needed more yard space so we moved once again to Maple Street.
Finally, we were able to buy our own building located at 8 Jewel Street in Wilmington, MA. Even though we are now located in Wilmington we will always consider Stoneham our home.
